Swimsuits Resolve

Swimwear for all ages and sizes are the things that Lands' End does best, and their Spring 2008 collection fits that bill. Information from Yahoo News, that men's swim has expanded to include more styles that can be worn from beach to street, and their already expansive women's swim collection - popular amongst shoppers for its customized coverage options as well as figure flattering fits - has even more choices next season. There are camisole-like tops with adjustable cleavage, and one suit that can be worn three different ways with adjustable pulls, for a look that ranges from sleek to ruched. Women of all sizes are catered to, and new for this year are supportive bra options up to a DD cup size, as well as maternity swimwear.

On the style front, their print options next season are notable, in particular the St. Tropez series. Graphic black and white patterned suits combine Lands' End tech fabric and high performance with chic style.

Performance fabrics are really what set Lands' End apart. Their baby and kid's swim options - which coordinate with mom and dad's swimwear - all feature built-in UV protection, 50 UPF. And those soggy suits on the car ride home? A distant memory, with their quick-dry fabrics.

Their new baby collection, which just launched last year, has expanded to include a full range of furniture for the nursery, as well as a series of stylish diaper bags. And with function and economy always in mind, baby apparel is designed to grow with the baby - so pant or shirt cuffs can be unrolled as needed.

All feature performance fabrics and details specific to the sport, like built-in tees on golf shorts, or built-in underwire support on sports bras for high-impact exercising.

Spice Girls Fashion

Information from Yahoo News, that while difficult to upstage nearly nude supermodels strutting down a catwalk, the Spice Girls stole a share of the spotlight on Thursday as they kicked off a reunion tour with a warm-up at the Victoria's Secret fashion show.
In a sneak peak of their eagerly anticipated world tour that begins December 2 in Vancouver, the members of the British girl group, whose monikers became household names in the 1990s, gave models like Heidi Klum a run for their money as they belted out their hit "Stop" and new single "Headlines."
Lest anyone forget who they were, the group's five women, dressed in World War Two-era khaki and jaunty military caps, emerged onstage at the Hollywood show to perform their first number in front of huge glittering lights spelling out "Spice." The band has sold more than 55 million albums, with 10 No. 1 singles.
The group's latest CD, "Spice Girls: Greatest Hits," is being sold only at the lingerie chain, owned by Limited Brands. The fashion show will be broadcast December 4 on CBS.
Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, the most visible member of the group in recent years since her marriage to soccer player David Beckham, was back to her brunette hair color from blond and wore an olive-drab cigarette skirt, with black gloves, wide belt and a plunging neckline.
"I'm in love with Victoria Beckham, which is probably an issue for David," "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest said after the show. "They could have stood there and done nothing and I'd have been happy," he said of the group.
Besides the spectacle of the reunited Spice Girls, there was plenty to ogle onstage at the Kodak Theatre, home of the Academy Awards, even with celebrities such as Eva Longoria and Slash from the 1980s' rocker band Guns N' Roses in the crowd.
The Victoria's Secret models, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, sported a series of animal-inspired lingerie looks, as barely there bras and panties were accessorized with plumage, skins and antlers seen usually only in the Serengeti.
In a respite from the overload of skin onstage, singer Seal, outfitted head to toe in glittering silver, crooned, "You're my angel, you're my girl," in a duet with wife Klum that culminated in a lingering kiss at the base of the catwalk.
The Black Eyed Peas' William Adams, also known as will.i.am, started the show with the fitting rap hook: "Baby, where you get your body from?" Adams was a last-minute stand-in for hip-hop star Kanye West whose mother died earlier in the week.
Sporty Spice, a.k.a. Melanie Chisholm, has described the upcoming Spice Girls tour as a "final bow" for the group, there was nothing morose about its performance. The confidence is true for this fashion.

Nautica

Using the Latin word for ships, David Chu started his menswear company, Nautica, in 1983 and proceeded to build an empire based on all things attached to the sailing mentality. Since then, the label has grown to include women’s and children’s ready-to-wear, swim, denim, and fragrance lines, all housed in several big stores around the city. The logo-happy collection covers all the bases for anyone who spends much of his day outdoors: sporty windbreakers in all-American red, white, and blue; tailored suits for him and her; crisp khakis, polos, and button-down shirts; and equally patriotic-looking swimwear that has steered into sexier waters over the last few seasons.

Preferring to keep a low profile, the no-nonsense Chu doesn’t go for the bells and whistles other fashion heads might. He’s a keen businessman first and foremost. Chu moved to the U.S. from Taiwan at the age of 14, speaking no English. He went on to graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology before launching Nautica.

Glam Gowns for Bride's Red Carpet Moment at Badgley Mischka

New York - For many women, their wedding day is one time in their life where a high-end, couture (or couture-quality) gown is a possibility, and worth the splurge. Walking down the aisle these days is the bridal equivalent of a red carpet.

Mark Badgley and James Mischka, the duo behind Badgley Mischka, have dressed their fair share of Hollywood elite for awards shows and movie premieres, and Teri Hatcher is their latest spokesmodel.
Badgley Mischka's bridal collection imparts a similar sense of old Hollywood glamour and is always one of the most eagerly anticipated collections to be shown during bridal market week, which kicked off in New York this weekend.

In a salon-style setting at the Hotel Intercontinental on Sunday, October 21, a suite of 23 gowns fit for a wedding in Malibu paraded down the runway, and the overall mood one of restrained, grown-up glamour and minimal embellishment, a hot trend in bridal this year.
"The collection was a little softer than usual," said Theresa DiMasi, editor-in-chief of Brides.com, "but still in keeping with what they do best, which is Hollywood glam. There's some bejewelment, but less than I've normally seen."
This season, continued DiMasi, "It's not about being overly ornate."
Rather than gowns with extensive, all-over beading, Badgley Mischka sent out dresses accented with rhinestone appliqués, beaded accents on the bodice or floral embroidery. And soft silk chiffon was the favored fabric in this collection versus more traditional silk satins.
The duo also experimented with necklines, from the sculptural bodice that jutted out at the top to form points, to a plunging V neckline to a halter neck with straps that appeared to be composed of rhinestones, doubling as a necklace.
Trumpet gowns rounded out the offerings, for the ultimate movie star glam factor.
